Ferrari stamp their authority
FERRARI's 2000 world championship victory has been commemorated with a new Italian stamp, revealed at a special ceremony on Friday.
Both Ferrari's director of communications Antonio Ghini, and racing director Stefano Domenicali were present at the Maranello town hall to witness the launch.
Released by the Italian Post Office and the town council, a total of six million copies of the new 5000 lire stamp depicting Michael Schumacher's Ferrari F12000 with a checkered flag background will be produced.
Maranello Mayor Giancarlo Bertacchini was delighted with the attendance, and proud of the town's association with the world champions.
"Behind every stamp there is a story, and the story of Maranello is tied to the exploits of the Prancing Horse," said Bertacchini.
