JAGUAR's Pedro de la Rosa showed his potential as he topped the times by over a second in the third and final day of testing at the Silverstone circuit on Friday.

Spaniard De la Rosa, who could earn a race seat after testing for Jaguar this season, recorded a best lap of one minute and 24.697 seconds.

De la Rosa, who was dropped by Arrows at the end of last season, will hope that the impressive performance in testing will not only help the team but boost his chances of a full drive in 2002.

Benetton test-driver Mark Webber was second fastest at Silverstone on Friday as he recorded a best lap of one minute and 25.742 seconds, fractionally ahead of Ricardo Zonta's Jordan.

BMW-Williams test-driver Marc Gene was fourth quickest as he worked on the gearbox and electronic systems of the team's FW22A and FW22B cars.

Experienced racer Johnny Herbert was at the bottom of the times for the second day running, after being fastest on day one.
