BRAZILIAN Rubens Barrichello returned to the track for the first time since finishing third in the season-opening Australian Grand Prix when he tested for Ferrari at Fiorano on Friday.

Barrichello joined Ferrari's official tester Luca Badoer and completed a total of 68 laps as he worked on an aerodynamic programme designed for next weekend's Malaysian Grand Prix. He posted a quickest lap time of one minute and 00.067 seconds.

Badoer, working in the F2001, continued testing electronic solutions destined for introduction at the Spanish Grand Prix and did a total of 66 laps with a best time exactly one second slower than Barrichello.

The duo will continue at the team's test track on Saturday as they finalize their preparations for the Malaysian Grand Prix at Sepang.
