Alguersuari penalised, Luizzi scores point

Following the event the stewards handed Toro Rosso driver Jaime Alguersuari a drive-through penalty after the race - as a result Alguersuari ends up classified 13th and Vitantonio Luizzi ended up taking the final point.

Following the event the stewards of the Belgian Grand Prix, which include former world champion Nigel Mansell, handed Toro Rosso driver Jaime Alguersuari a drive-through penalty after the race, which was enforced by adding 20 seconds to his overall race time.

The penalty was given because Alguersuari cut the chicane while overtaking Vitantonio Luizzi on lap 42, taking 10th place and scoring the final point. As a result Alguersuari ends up classified 13th, the final runner on the lead lap, and Force India driver Luizzi ends up with the final point in tenth place.

Tonio Liuzzi commented, "I'm really pleased to be back in the points again this race for the first time since Canada. We've always been pushing really hard so to get a point here, and to make it a double points scoring finish for the team, is a really good reward for all the hard work we've done over the past few weeks."
