Sponsorship holds up De la Rosa announcement

SPANISH driver Pedro de la Rosa will be announced as a driver for Arrows next season - but only after the British team finalise their sponsorship line-up.

Arrows team-boss Tom Walkinshaw is trying to renew their interests with Spanish oil company Repsol-YPF, who back 29-year-old De la Rosa.

The oil company could be interested in renewing it's support of the Leafield-based team, since Walkinshaw assured the continuing role of De la Rosa earlier this year.

The future of Dutch driver Jos Verstappen, the team-mate of De la Rosa, remains unclear but he is expected to sign for next season with Arrows expected to keep an unchanged line-up for 2001.
