Brawn takes a break

FERRARI technical director Ross Brawn is taking a well-deserved break after helping Michael Schumacher and the team to double glory.

Brawn will be absent from Mugello this weekend where the Italian team will culminate their celebrations after securing the drivers' and constructors' championships last season.

"I'm going fishing next week in the Seychelles," revealed Brawn. "While I'm out there, I will be thinking about these successes. We've got a lot of work to do for next season. We can't be complacent."

Before jetting off, Brawn took the time to praise Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo, who he believes has been instrumental in the team's success.

He added: "We had the maximum support from our president. He has always supported the team. There have been times when people were saying change this or change that but he didn't.

"There was no point because consistency is the most powerful thing a team can have. We've had that with the same group of people, and with that group of people, I knew there was always a chance."
