MICHAEL SCHUMACHER ensured Ferrari's problems on the new F2001 were temporary as he continued development work on the car at Mugello on Wednesday.

The reigning world champion had his day hampered on Monday when an engine injection system cost him track time but the German driver enjoyed a trouble-free day as he completed 56 laps of the Italian circuit.

Schumacher, who posted a quickest lap time of one minute and 24.579 seconds, will continue development work on Thursday.
