Peugeot pull out of Formula One

Peugeot have confirmed that they will pull out of Formula One at the end of the year, leaving Prost in search of a new engine supplier.

The French outfit have announced that the sporting arm of the company, Peugeot Sport, will quit Formula One and now Prost must find another power unit for 2001 and beyond.

Peugeot plan to concentrate on their saloon car projects, after their relationship with Prost deteriorated throughout the season.

Peugeot have sold their engines to Asia Motor Technologies, who will supply Leafield-based Arrows in the 2001 World Championship.
