Jordan deny engineer split

JORDAN have categorically denied that Heinz-Harald Frentzen's chief engineer Sam Michael has left the team for Ferrari.

Reports had circulated that Michael had quit the team, but Jordan dismissed the claims and said the 29-year-old Australian was staying with the team.

A team spokeswoman said: "He has not left. I can certainly deny that story and we will all be going to Germany as normal."

The spokeswoman added that the only announcement the team would be making soon would be their driver line-up for next season.

Prompted by Jacques Villeneuve's decision to stay at British American Racing on Monday night the Silverstone-based team confirmed an announcement on the futures of Frentzen and team-mate Jarno Trulli was "imminent".
