Jordan go well again at Silverstone

JORDAN topped the times for the second consecutive day in Silverstone testing on Wednesday, as Benetton's Jenson Button failed to match their pace.

The Jordans of Heinz-Harald Frentzen and Jarno Trulli set a blistering pace, and the young Briton Button could only manage a time 4.5 seconds off the top spot.

However, the team ran 48 laps and concentrated on endurance work and the car was running very high fuel levels.

In contrast to the struggling fortunes of Benetton, the Jordan team has started to show encouraging pace as the off-season comes to an end.

Heinz-Harald Frentzen and Jarno Trulli completed 42 laps between them and set the top two times in the session.

Testing times from Silverstone on Wednesday:

POS DRIVER ENTRANT TIME
Heinz-Harald Frentzen Jordan 1:23.894
Jarno Trulli Jordan 1:24.645
Jos Verstappen Arrows 1:24.951
Enrique Bernoldi Arrows 1:25.172
Jenson Button Benetton 1:28.373
