Inside F1's European onslaught begins

IN January Inside F1 launched a scheme intended to get young American drivers to race in Europe with the long term aim of finding an American star for Formula 1.

IN January Inside F1 launched a scheme intended to get young American drivers to race in Europe with the long term aim of finding an American star for Formula 1. The first winner of the Inside F1 Young Driver Award was 21-year-old Josh Rehm. Last week Rehm did his first Toyota Atlantic test with Active Motorsports and impressed the team with his speed around the little-known Memphis Motor Sport Park in Tennessee. Rehm is now flying to Europe to compete for Inside F1 in the Formula Palmer Audi Winter Series. He hopes that if he can show well against the best young Europeans he will be in a position to get a drive in British Formula 3 next season.

But Rehm is not alone in the quest to get an American into Formula 1. Inside F1 is also helping out 18-year-old Patrick Long who will race this weekend in the Formula Ford Festival at Brands Hatch with Menu Motorsport and he will then go on to race in the Formula Ford Winter Series with the Van Diemen factory team.

Inside F1 is also involved with Will Langhorne who is due to test for the Super Nova Formula 3000 team in Estoril at the end of the month. To date Langhorne has been racing in the Toyota Atlantic series with Active Motorsports.
