Jenson Button has escaped from a big crash at Jerez de la Frontera. The BAR-Honda driver banged his knees on the inside of the cockpit during the shunt on Thursday morning and he has suffered bruising but it remains to be seen whether this will preclude his involvement in the United States Grand Prix at Indianapolis next week. Button will not be testing any more and will now go home and rest while BAR test driver Takuma Sato will take over the testing work.

The accident happened in Jerez's high-speed Turn 4 when Button spun and hit the wall, badly damaging the left side of his car.
