Bridgestone extends contract with Sauber
It is not a surprise that Bridgestone and Sauber have reached an agreement to continue their relationship until the end of 2004. Sauber has been with Bridgestone since 1999.
Switching to Michelin was Sauber's only option and it is hard to see what would have been achieved by such a move. There has been a certain amount of speculation in recent days that some teams are thinking of leaping from Michelin to Bridgestone but none of them really make sense at the moment as the tyre war is a closely fought affair - except that the Ferrari is such a good car that the tyre difference is not enough.
