Another awards ceremony

This is the time of year when every man and his dog are handing out awards for the motorsport activities of the last 12 months and Ferrari is expected to win most of them.

This is the time of year when every man and his dog are handing out awards for the motorsport activities of the last 12 months and Ferrari is expected to win most of them. One victory that is guaranteed is the FIA Awards which will be held in Monte Carlo in mid-December at which Michael Schumacher will pick up his trophy as the FIA Formula 1 World Champion. Various magazines in various countries will hold their own award ceremonies and in January the Formula 1 Awards will be presented at the 2003 Grand Prix Party, which will be held on January 11th at the NEC Arena in Birmingham.

The awards are voted by a panel of F1 figures including Bernie Ecclestone. And this year there will be eight categories including best driver, best newcomer, best car, best driver (voted by the drivers), best circuit, outstanding contribution in 2002, a special safety award and a lifetime achievement award.
