Magny-Cours local government kicks in cash

The Conseil General of the departement of the Nievre, the local government of Magny-Cours, has voted to invest in the venue for the next three years.

The local authority is investing $3.8m this year, most of the money will be used to upgrade public facilities at the circuit, including access roads and upgrading for the buildings.

The Grand Prix, which has the cheapest tickets of any of the European races, has so far sold 38,000 tickets for this year's race, which is an improvement of 11% over sales last year. Jacques Regis, the president of the Federation Francaise du Sport Automobile, is aiming for a crowd of at least 75,000 this year.
