Looking back

Last September the FIA World Motor Sport Council judged the McLaren team, based on the existence of a number of text messages and telephone calls which were supposed to indicate McLaren guilt. The right to use that information was challenged by McLaren on the basis that it was not acquired legally. This was Mosley's response.

"The World Councilâ„¢s only concern is whether that list is accurate and truthful," he said. "We are not concerned with whether there are issues over how that is obtained. Unless there is evidence that it is forged or inaccurate, we will take it on its face value. We do not enter a debate about Italian law; we have neither the time nor the skills for that."

The FIA General Assembly will now meet to discuss "the widespread publicity following an apparently illegal invasion of the FIA President's privacy".
