Force India's Adrian Sutil and Toro Rosso's Sebastien Buemi will suffer five slot grid penalties at the Brazilian GP after collisions with Sauber's Kamui Kobayashi and Virgin's Timo Glock respectively.

The contact with Buemi was a bitter blow for Virgin Racing. Glock, an accomplished wet weather exponent, was running in 12th place and an attrition race like Korea was exactly the opportunity the team was looking for to score a point and jump ahead of Lotus Racing in the constructors' championship.

Sutil, meanwhile, said: "When the track dried a bit I made a pit stop and tried to do the rest of the race on the intermediate tyre. I was just struggling with my brakes all the time. I kept locking up and it was hard to drive consistently. Overtaking Kobayashi, I lost the car on a patch that was wetter than expected. I'm not happy with my performance."

Race stewards, who included 1980 world champion Alan Jones, fined Sutil $10,000 "in view of the driver's admission that he was aware of brake problems with his car throughout the race."
