Button said that you can't have everything in life and said that he and BAR must go forward together. Richards said that all relationships have ups and downs and that things would be fine next year - and they probably will be, although there is little doubt that Button and Williams will no doubt try to have a contract for 2006, depending on what happens in the course of the next 12 months. Button's contract with BAR has an option (in favour of the team) for 2006 but there is a performance clause which the team must meet. It is not clear what the details of the clause say but it is almost certain to be more difficult than the performance clause in this year's option. The pressure therefore is on BAR to perform although the team says that it is not really too bothered about the situation because if the cars perform the drivers will come.
