Alonso in trouble?

Fernando Alonso took pole position for the Hungarian Grand Prix in Budapest but there was controversy as the Spaniard stayed in the McLaren pit for longer than was absolutely necessary and by doing so, denied Lewis Hamilton the chance of a final qualifying run.

Fernando Alonso took pole position for the Hungarian Grand Prix in Budapest but there was controversy as the Spaniard stayed in the McLaren pit for longer than was absolutely necessary and by doing so, denied Lewis Hamilton the chance of a final qualifying run.

"You can ask the team," Alonso said. "They do the calculations. They find the gaps. I just drive the car."

There will no doubt the an investigation into the whole business and it is possible that Alonso could face an impeding charge, not unlike the one that Michael Schumacher was given at Monaco last year. This could mean that Fernando will have to start from the back of the grid. The FIA Stewards may also decide to take away Alonso's best lap time which would drop him to eighth on the grid.
