Which Ferrari will be in Malaysia?
Ferrari's sporting director, Jean Todt, has told the Italian press that the team is considering taking both the F2001 and F2002 to Malaysia for the second round of the world championship next weekend.
The defending world champions have been concerned about the reliability of the new F2002 because they have not had enough opportunity to test it. Luca Badoer will test the new Ferrari at Mugello this week, and Todt says that they will make a decision Saturday on what cars to take to Malaysia.
"There are three possible solutions," said Todt. "To go to Malaysia with the old F2001 used here in Australia, or to go to Malaysia with the new F2002, or to go with a new car and an old car."
Presumably this means either Michael Schumacher or Rubens Barrichello would drive the F2001 again, and the other would drive the F2002. With Schumacher dominating in Melbourne in the old car, and Barrichello having never tested the new car, it is unlikely the team would rush the F2002 to the grid in Malaysia for either driver.
