Valencia testing continues

McLaren took to the top of the time sheet for the second day of testing at the Valencia circuit Wednesday. Kimi Raikkonen and Alexander Wurz led the ten drivers who conducted testing at the Spanish circuit.

McLaren took to the top of the time sheet for the second day of testing at the Valencia circuit Wednesday. Kimi Raikkonen and Alexander Wurz led the ten drivers who conducted testing at the Spanish circuit. Williams' Juan Pablo Montoya, who was fastest Tuesday, was third fastest Wednesday.

Joining Montoya for Williams-BMW were Marc Gene, Vitantonio Luzzi and F3000 runner-up Giorgio Pantano. Pantano finished the day fifth fastest, about a tenth quicker than Gene in sixth, while Luzzi was eighth. The team used the day to continue development for next year's FW25.

Jarno Trulli continued his work for Renault. Trulli completed thirty one laps of the circuit, finishing the day fourth fastest.

Nick Heidfeld continued testing for Sauber. The German lost some time in the morning session when he spun his car, but recovered to complete nearly 50 laps before the day's end. Heidfeld will return Thursday for the team's final day at Valencia this week.

On Tuesday, Minardi ran two PS01 cars with Russian Sergey Zlobin and Frank Montagny. The team wrapped up their Valencia program Wednesday with Zlobin and Matteo Bobbi running the older cars which were fitted with new hardware and software that will make its way into the team's new challenger.

Testing for most of the teams will conclude Thursday.
