The BRDC aims to establish a driver academy

The British Racing Drivers' Club, which owns Silverstone, is trying to improve its image and to attract government money for the rebuilding of the circuit and has launched plans for a Racing Academy to help promote young British racing talent.

BRDC President Martin Brundle is floating the idea of a facility to improve the skills needed for young drivers so that they avoid some of the pitfalls off the sport. Brundle reckons that the BRDC members have enough experience to be able to help out youngsters with ambition and help them to the top levels of the sport.
