SILVERSTONE is now in the home stretch in its preparations for the British GP and with the new dual-carriageway finished on the Dadford Road access to the circuit should be improved dramatically. Inside the track vast area (around 18 acres) of hard standing have been created to cut down on the muddy problems of yesteryear and the big question now is whether or not the Silverstone bypass will be close enough to completion for parts of the road to be used for GP traffic. It is clear that the entire bypass is not going to be ready in time but if there is enough road completed to help ease the access problems the circuit will be in good shape.

With just three weeks to go before the race there is a lot of optimism amongst the circuit authorities that all be well.
