Renault launching today

The launch of the new Renault F1 challenger for 2003 takes place this afternoon in Luzern in Switzerland. The venue was chosen because it allows the team to exhibit the car in its full tobacco livery, something which is banned in France. The new car is the work of a team of engineers led by Mike Gascoyne.

The launch of the new Renault F1 challenger for 2003 takes place this afternoon in Luzern in Switzerland. The venue was chosen because it allows the team to exhibit the car in its full tobacco livery, something which is banned in France. The new car is the work of a team of engineers led by Mike Gascoyne although he organised his design teams so that work on the car began early in 2002 under the guidance of Tim Densham. The design team of the 2002 car, led by Mark Smith, will soon start work on the 2004 car.

The team will then take the car down to Paul Ricard where there will be a second unbranded launch later in the week.
