No change to qualifying

The Formula 1 principals met in London today and although there do not appear to have any major ructions, it is clear that the qualifying system adopted this year is not going to be changed.

The Formula 1 principals met in London today and although there do not appear to have any major ructions, it is clear that the qualifying system adopted this year is not going to be changed. There were attempts by the F1 teams to come up with a different format but there was never any real agreement and there were also fears that changing qualifying mid-season would look a little too much like a panic measure. Thus the car-by-car format will remain for the rest of the season.
