NASCAR ratings dwarf F1 in the USA

On Sunday the NASCAR Winston Cup race from Talladega, Alabama, recorded its highest TV ratings ever for a day on which the National Football League was playing games with a 4.4 and a 10 share.

ON Sunday the NASCAR Winston Cup race from Talladega, Alabama, recorded its highest TV ratings ever for a day on which the National Football League was playing games with a 4.4 and a 10 share. This equates to an audience of about 5m people which was 10% of all the people watching television at that point.

The recent United States GP at Indianapolis rated only a 1.1 with a 2 share on the Nielsen Media Research ratings system, which equated to an audience of around 1m, a two percent share of the people watching TV when the Grand Prix was broadcast.
