The word from South America is that the deal for Felipe Massa to go to Jordan has fallen through at the last minute. This leaves the second Jordan drive open for Ralph Firman, who is believed to have sponsorship from private backer and possible from Ford Ireland and Benson & Hedges.
Firman has been racing in Japan in recent years winning the Formula Nippon Championship next year.
