Lotus to build a soapbox!

Lotus Engineering will take part in the soapbox derby at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this summer with the aim of producing a 50kg device which will be capable of running at 55mph down the famous Goodhill hill.

LOTUS ENGINEERING will take part in the soapbox derby at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this summer with the aim of producing a 50kg device which will be capable of running at 55mph down the famous Goodhill hill. The car, which has been codenamed Lotus 119 (the last Formula 1 car was the 109 in 1994). The 119 will feature lightweight aluminum construction allied to composite parts and is being designed by a group of student engineers in collaboration with the famous British car company (now owned by the Malaysian firm Proton).
