Long wows them at Spa

INSIDE F1 Young Driver of the Year Patrick Long pulled off the most impressive driving feat of his career winning the Formula Ford race at Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium - from 11th on the grid.

In rain-soaked conditions Long moved through the field and then pulled off a dramatic last-lap pass of Denmark's Ronnie Bremer.

"Winning at Spa in the rain was incredible," said Long. "Spa is probably the most famous circuit in the world, and standing on the top step of the podium will be something I'll never forget. It gives me great confidence going into

the final round of the British Formula Ford series."

Long and Sweden's Robert Dahlgren are separated by just two points in the Slick 50 British Formula Ford Championship which will be settled on Sunday at Silverstone.

A victory for Long would be great news for F1 in America as the United States is looking for a driver to help build up the popularity of the sport.

Inside F1, Inc., the owner of GrandPrix.com, has been supporting Long's efforts this year.
