Jaguar to test Red Bull-friendly drivers

Jaguar Racing is to test two drivers who will go down very well with Red Bull, at Valencia at the end of the month. Red Bull is ready to put $15m of sponsorship into Jaguar if it will run Klien but the team is baulking at the idea as the Austrian driver is short on experience.

Jaguar Racing is to test two drivers who will go down very well with Red Bull, at Valencia at the end of the month. Red Bull is ready to put $15m of sponsorship into Jaguar if it will run Klien but the team is baulking at the idea as the Austrian driver is short on experience. This may explain how Townsend Bell has moved into the equation, as Red Bull has made no secret in the past of its desire to have an American driver in F1 and Bell might be the man to be a compromise solution with Klien becoming the team's test driver. Bell would then move up to be team leader in 2005 when Mark Webber moves on to Renault F1, opening the way for Klien to get into F1.

Bell recently spent three days testing for BAR-Honda.
