Jacques to be a team owner?
Having already had a share in a Formula 1 team, Jacques Villeneuve may now be planning to run his own team in NASCAR. The word from the US is that the 35-year-old former World Champion and his manager Craig Pollock are busy pitching sponsors in order to put together a team.
Having already had a share in a Formula 1 team, Jacques Villeneuve may now be planning to run his own team in NASCAR. The word from the US is that the 35-year-old former World Champion and his manager Craig Pollock are busy pitching sponsors in order to put together a team which would use Roush Racing machinery.
This would be a similar idea to No Fear Racing, Boris Said's team which ran four races this year and took pole position at Daytona in July. Roush sources say that if a programme is to be put together, it needs to be done quickly.
Jacques, incidentally, became a father last week, his wife Johanna presenting him with a son called Jules. Given the adventures of Jacques's father Gilles and Jacques himself, F1 will need to look out for Jules Villeneuve in about 2028.
