Herbert takes Le Mans pole position

Former F1 ace Johnny Herbert has put his Audi on pole position for the Le Mans 24 Hours. As expected the battle was between the various Audi R8s and the Herbert, Jamie Davies, Guy Smith car came out ahead of the second Audi UK entry which is shared by Allan McNish, Frank Biela and Pierre Kaffer.

As expected the battle was between the various Audi R8s and the Herbert, Jamie Davies, Guy Smith car came out ahead of the second Audi UK entry which is shared by Allan McNish, Frank Biela and Pierre Kaffer. There are other Audis in fourth and sixth while the Zytek of Any Wallace was third quickest with a lap which was only a second slower than Herbert. Fifth fastest was a Pescarolo-Judd driven by Champ Car driver Sebastian Bourdais, Emmanuel Collard and Nicolas Minassian, while there are also a pair of Domes in the top eight. In the GTS Class Tomas Enge set the fastest time in his Ferrari 550, beating the expected favourites Corvette while in the GT Class Porsche was ahead of the Ferrari 360s.
