MCLAREN driver Mika Hakkinen topped the times in Saturday's testing at Valencia as he familiarized himself with the team's new MP4/16 chassis.

The Finn, who is determined to regain the world championship this year following the birth of his first child Hugo, was over 0.4 seconds quicker than team-mate David Coulthard.

Luciano Burti, of Brazil, was third quickest at the Spanish circuit while Arrows duo Jos Verstappen and Enrique Bernoldi were fourth and fifth quickest respectively.

The Arrows team switched from Estoril after the Portuguese track was hit by wet weather, but the drivers had little time for running after they arrived at Valencia late in the afternoon.
