ANDREW CRAIG, who ran the CART series between 1994 and 2000, has started working to help market Sauber team. Craig was based in Switzerland with the International Olympic Committee before joining CART and knows the country well and is now helping Peter Sauber to build up his sponsorship portfolio, using his connections in the United States. The relationship has yet to produce any concrete results.

The Sauber team has had a big change in its administration in recent months with the departure of chief executive Heinz Haller and its marketing manager Marco Feser. The new head of marketing is called Sven Zehnder (no relation to team manager Beat Zehnder) who has been working with the ISL marketing firm in North America in recent years, notably with the Adidas and Nike contracts.
