The Formula 1 world is getting into bed with the movies in the next couple of weeks as the film world gathers at Cannes between May 17-28 and will be a big presence at the forthcoming Monaco Grand Prix with Red Bull Racing expected to do a deal to promote one of the movies at the festival, following on from its efforts in recent years with Star Wars and Ocean's 11 (when the team was still Jaguar Racing). It is not yet clear which film will be involved. Given that the others were both Warner Brother productions it would be worth guessing that this year the film will be Superman Returns, the company's biggest launch of the summer.

In Barcelona Walt Disney started the winding-up for the launch its new Pixar movie called Cars which will be released this summer. Film star Owen Wilson and director john Lasseter turned up in the paddock in Barcelona. The film is the latest in a series of Pixar successes, that have included Toy Story, Bug's Life, Monsters Inc, Finding Nemo and The Incredibles. The voiceover credits for the movie include Michael Schumacher and Fernando Alonso.
