Button looks forward to Benetton challenge
JENSON BUTTON has insisted that he is desperate to return to the cockpit and start testing for his new team Benetton next month - even though he has to prove himself all over again.
The 20-year-old Briton has a month off in November after a stunning debut season this year, but after his two-year loan move from BMW-Williams to Benetton he cannot wait to prove himself.
"It's going to be a real challenge, but I'm up for it," said Button, who will make his debut in a Benetton car at the team's test in Jerez, Spain next month.
"Until I actually drive the car it is hard to predict anything. But they finished fourth last season an Flavio Briatore is back as the team boss. He did a great job leading Benetton when Michael Schumacher won the title."
Button made his debut in Formula One with BMW-Williams in March and was regarded as the second driver to Ralf Schumacher. He is looking forward to equal status with Benetton team-mate Giancarlo Fisichella.
He added: "I'm starting on equal terms with Fisichella, but he picked up a few seconds for the team this year. You don't easily do that if you're not with McLaren or Ferrari, so it will be interesting."
