Brunner has left
Our spies in Cologne have confirmed that chief designer Gustav Brunner has left the team but there is no indication why he has gone nor where, if anywhere, he is going.
Our spies in Cologne have confirmed that chief designer Gustav Brunner has left the team but there is no indication why he has gone nor where, if anywhere, he is going. Brunner joined Toyota in May 2001 on what was believed to be a five year deal and with the team having already completed the TF106 it is a logical moment for Brunner to depart. The design team at Toyota is now completing on the TF106B, which will appear early in the European season. There is now likely to be a pause before work begins on the next upgrade.
We would not be surprised to see Brunner appear at Scuderia Toro Rosso as Red Bull is very keen on promoting Austrians and Brunner is one of the highest profile Austrian engineers.
