Briatore hints at Fisichella future

FLAVIO BRIATORE has hinted that Giancarlo Fisichella could continue his career at Renault when the French manufacturer makes a full return to the Grand Prix grid next year.

FLAVIO BRIATORE has hinted that Giancarlo Fisichella could continue his career at Renault when the French manufacturer makes a full return to the Grand Prix grid next year.

Benetton, which will hand over its team to Renault, is believed to have an option on the Italian for 2002, but must take it up by August if they are to hold onto him.

Fisichella has performed well with a difficult car this year, and Briatore hinted that he is keen to keep the driver.

"If he continues to drive the way he has, there shouldn't be any problem," said Briatore.

With Jenson Button contracted for two years, the team looks set to continue with the current set-up.
