BAR protest against Raikkonen will be heard in June

BRITISH AMERICAN RACING's appeal against the rejection of their protest against Sauber's Kimi Raikkonen in the Austrian Grand Prix will not be heard until June 1, it was announced by the FIA on Friday.

BRITISH AMERICAN RACING's appeal against the rejection of their protest against Sauber's Kimi Raikkonen in the Austrian Grand Prix will not be heard until June 1, it was announced by the FIA on Friday.

Raikkonen came fourth in last weekend's Austrian race but was accused of overtaking Prost's Luciano Burti under yellow flags in the race.

The original protest was rejected, but BAR persisted with their appeal to punish Raikkonen in the hope that it would move their fifth-placed driver Olivier Panis up the points scoring positions.

The appeal will be heard by the FIA International Court of Appeal in Paris.
