A number of planned sponsor announcements (including a major new Williams backer) were planned to take place at Indianapolis but the current terrorism crisis has resulted in teams deciding not to make their plans public until later in the year. However British American Racing announced a small deal on Thursday with Electronic Arts. The deal coincides with the launch of F1 2001, EA's latest computer game. The games will go into shops across America on Tuesday.

The new game is officially licensed by Formula One Administration and features all 22 F1 drivers, 11 teams and all 17 tracks from the World Championship.
