Arrows appoint two new members to development team

THE Arrows team have appointed two new staff members to their design and development department as they bid to improve on their performance for the 2001 world championship.

Arrows have recruited Reynard Motorsport duo Tony Osgood and Alan Smith, from the American-based Champ Car team.

Design engineer Osgood, who has worked at Arrows before, is a specialist in designing gearboxes, and will add his experience to a problem the Leafield-based team have has problems with this season.

Aerodynamicist Smith is a specialist in his field and will join the Arrows design team in a bid to improve the car for the 2001 season, when they will be powered by AMT engines.
