Another lap record for flying Coulthard

DAVID COULTHARD broke the lap record at the Valencia track for the second day in a row on Tuesday.

DAVID COULTHARD broke the lap record at the Valencia track for the second day in a row on Tuesday.

The Scottish driver, driving this year's McLaren MP4/16, beat his best time of Monday by 0.13 seconds to send another warning shot to his title rivals.

He lapped 0.8 seconds faster than his nearest rival, Jarno Trulli. The Italian was able to build on Monday's good performance from his Jordan team-mate Heinz-Harald Frentzen,

Frentzen clocked fourth fastest time of the session behind McLaren's Alexander Wurz, while Luciano Burti pulled his Jaguar up to fifth as his team-mate Eddie Irvine struggled to get a good lap in and finished the day last on the list.

Sauber's young star Kimi Raikkonen continued to get more miles under his belt with another race distance run. "I feel more and more confident with each run," said the Finnish driver.
