The 1978 Formula 1 World Champion Mario Andretti is not seeking re-election as a director of the board of CART. The shareholders of the company will vote for the board members on July 17. The company has nominated an accountant Robert Biggs, formerly of PriceWaterhouseCoopers, as a new board member while Pat Patrick, who was the first CART president back in 1978 is also standing down. Andretti has been on the board of CART since August last year. There are no other major issues expected at the annual general meeting but it will be worth watching out for action as there may be moves related to the ongoing talks between CART and F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone.
