...and a race in Jordan?

WE hear that Jackie Stewart is trying to convince King Hussein of Jordan that he should build a racing circuit near Amman in Jordan. Stewart is a close friend of Hussein and his race teams have been sponsored by some Jordanian companies in recent years.

The plans may be rather further advanced than we imagine as last week Derek Ledger, the chief executive of the Royal Automobile Club of Jordan and a close political ally of Max Mosley in the FIA, was removed from office and has been replaced by Prince Faisal, son of Hussein, as a member of the FIA World Motor Sport Council.
