Race Notes - Raikkonen wins Canadian GP

Kimi Raikkonen won the Canadian Grand Prix, at Montreal, in his McLaren-Mercedes. Michael Schumacher was second in his Ferrari and his team mate Rubens Barrichello, who started the race from the pitlane, was third.
At the start of the race, the front row of Jenson Button and Michael Schumacher were swallowed up by the two Renaults with Giancarlo Fisichella taking the early lead.
Schumacher, on a light fuel load, was the first to stop, while poleman Button stopped on lap 15 - while the Renaults and McLarens made their first stop on laps 24 and 25.
On lap 32, Fisichella retired with a mechanical problem from the lead - while World Championship leader Fernando Alonso took the lead and tagged the wall on lap 38 and was forced to retire.
On lap 47 Button hit the wall on the final chicane while running in third, and the safety car was deployed and Raikkonen and Schumacher pitted immediately and caught out the leader Montoya who pitted the next lap.
The race restarted on lap 51 with Rakkonen ahead of Montoya and Schumacher.
After the restart, Montoya was black-flagged from the event for having exited the pits while the red light was still on - elevating Jarno Trulli to third.
On lap 61 Trulli dropped out with brake problems.
Fourth place went to Felipe Massa in his Sauber-Petronas, fifth place went to Mark Webber in his Williams-BMW, Ralf Schumacher in the second Toyota was sixth, David Coulthard in the Red Bull was seventh and his team mate Christian Klien finished in the final points position in eighth.
