Race Notes - Alonso wins Bahrain GP
World Championship leader Fernando Alonso won the Bahrain Grand Prix today, taking his second victory in a row - and Renault's third victory in a row for the season,
The Spanish driver dominated from pole position to finish 13 seconds ahead of Jarno Trulli, who took second place in his Toyota, Kimi Raikkonen finishing third 32 seconds behind the leader in his McLaren-Mercedes.
Fourth place went to Ralf Schumacher 53 seconds behind in the second Toyota, fifth went to Pedro de la Rosa in the second McLaren - substituting for the injured Juan Pablo Montoya - 64 seconds behind who drove a spirited race all afternoon.
Sixth place went to the Williams-BMW of Mark Webber the last man on the lead lap - 74 seconds behind.
Seventh place went to Felipe Massa in the Sauber-Petronas, and the final points paying position went to David Coulthard in the Red Bull-Cosworth.
Michael Schumacher, after qualifying second, retired on lap 12 with a hydraulic failure - the first retirement for Schumacher due to a mechanical problem since the German GP in 2001.
