Vettel demonstrates Red Bull in Berlin

New world champion Sebastian Vettel demonstrated a Red Bull in Berlin today in front of a crowd estimated at more than 80,000.

New world champion Sebastian Vettel demonstrated a Red Bull in Berlin today in front of a crowd estimated at more than 80,000.

Vettel did a burn-out and doughnuts in front of the Brandenburg Gate before telling German fans that becoming the sport's youngest ever world champion was "a dream come true" for him as he made a bus parade through the streets.

With temperatures three degrees below freezing, crowds thronged onto the streets to show their appreciation for the man who led the 2010 championship for the first time only after the season-closing race in Abu Dhabi.

Meanwhile, in warmer climes, Mark Webber and Red Bull junior driver Daniel Ricciardo were in Perth, Australia, taking part in the city's first ever Festival of Speed. Local boy Ricciardo kicked off proceedings with a demo run along Riverside Drive.

"It was one of the coolest Fridays of my life," Ricciardo said. "I recognised a lot of people and think around 80% of the crowd was a family member or friend! I was almost as nervous before the show run as before a race; there's pressure, as if you make a mistake you can look silly, but as soon the engine fired up and I got my helmet on I felt right back at home; it was cool."

Webber arrived in Australia today and both drivers will be part of demonstration events tomorrow at Wanneroo Raceway, which will also be attended by Alan Jones and Geoff Brabham.

"It's awesome to be back in Australia and it's great to get an F1 car to this part of the country," Webber said. "I raced at the Wanneroo Raceway in 1994 - it's always been part of the racing scene here and I'm looking forward to driving the car there. It wasn't a five minute job to get an event like this arranged, so well done to everyone involved. Red Bull Racing's a small team, but it achieves big things. We're doing some cool things this weekend and it's good to be part of it."

Vettel, meanwhile, is scheduled to head on to Dusseldorf where he will represent Germany in the Race of Champions alongside Michael Schumacher.
