Sir Jackie Stewart is back home after undergoing tests at hospital in Hillingdon, London.

The three times world champion took ill on a flight back from the Geneva Motor Show earlier this week, needing mid-flight medical attention before being taken to hospital when the British Airways flight landed.

Stewart, 71, suffered chest pains and passed out. He has always pursued a full business schedule, if anything flying a higher annual mileage than when he was racing.

Son Paul, with whom he ran Stewart Grand Prix in the mid nineties, told the BBC: "It was the chest pains that caused the problem but they're happy it's not a major thing and he's resting. All his vital organs are okay - it wasn't a heart attack or anything like that. It's nothing to be overly concerned about - he just needs rest."

In recent years Stewart has been an F1 paddock regular in an ambassadorial capacity for Royal Bank of Scotland among others, and has recently taken on a new role with the Genii Capital owned Renault team.
