Former McLaren and Ferrari F1 driver has announced that he will be running a two-car CART team next year under the American Spirit Team banner.

Former McLaren and Ferrari F1 driver has announced that he will be running a two-car CART team next year under the American Spirit Team banner. Johnasson has yet to announce any details of sponsorship or drivers but he says he is aiming to have two American drivers in the team. An announcement will be made in the New Year.

"I am certain we'll have a very competitive lineup," says Johansson.

The announcement means that CART can now boast a total of nine teams.
