Sky confirms F1 commentary team

Sky TV has confirmed that David Croft and Martin Brundle will be its raceday F1 commentators next year.

Sky TV has confirmed that David Croft and Martin Brundle will be its raceday F1 commentators next year.

Other defections to the satellite broadcaster from the UK national terrestrial BBC network include Anthony Davidson, who gelled well with Croft on BBC Five Live's radio coverage, and pit lane reporters Ted Kravitz and Natalie Pinkham. Davidson will join Croft in describing the practice action.

With Sky planning a bespoke F1 channel, Kravitz will present a magazine-style programme with Sky's Georgie Thompson and experienced broadcaster Steve Rider will interview legends of the sport.

Sky's executive producer Martin Turner said: "In Martin Brundle we have the outstanding F1 broadcaster - on the track and in broadcasting, he's proved it time and again.

"Working alongside him, David Croft is a passionate, experienced commentator and Anthony Davidson can bring great technical knowledge to live practice sessions."

Although the BBC has yet to confirm its line-up, the main commentary team is expected to comprise former Eurosport F1 commentator Ben Edwards alongside David Coulthard, with Eddie Jordan staying with the BBC and Jake Humphrey continuing to present.
